Headout: the sea trips and attractions specialist
Headout's Hurghada range is narrower than GetYourGuide's but built around what most visitors book: Orange Bay and Giftun boats, Dolphin House, high-speed sea taxis, the Royal Seascope semi-submarine from Hurghada and Makadi, Dolphin World, the Grand Aquarium, parasailing and other water sports, Makadi Water World, and a long list of hammam and massage trips. It also sells airport transfers and some desert safaris and horse rides. Luxor, Cairo and longer trips are thin: a couple of products each.
Many Headout listings for Hurghada include hotel transfers from Hurghada town and either include or charge for pickup from Makadi, Sahl Hasheesh, El Gouna or Soma Bay. Read the "Exclusions" section: some local suppliers list a cash payment on the spot, for example a fee or a transfer supplement for outlying zones, that isn't part of the online price.
How Headout handles money and problems
- Contract: Headout's terms say it isn't a tour agency; you buy from the supplier and Headout facilitates the purchase and the payment.
- Checkout: the total can include a Headout service fee and other charges shown at checkout. Compare final totals when you compare platforms.
- Cancellation: follows the listing. If you cancel within the rules, Headout refunds you once the supplier has returned the money to Headout. Refunds go to your original payment method; if that isn't possible, you can take Headout credit.
- Headout Promise: if the venue closes unexpectedly, the local operator cancels, the guide doesn't show or a promised inclusion (entry, transfer) is missing, Headout offers a rebooking or a refund. You must contact support within 24 hours of the problem with your booking details and some evidence. It doesn't cover bad weather, traffic, late arrival or no-shows, and it doesn't cover injury or other costs.
- Support: Headout promises 24/7 multilingual support by chat, phone or email.
Tiqets: a short list, used for specific things
Tiqets is strongest in cities with big museums and attractions. In Hurghada its list is short: a desert safari venue, diving and snorkeling trips, a water park, airport transfers, the Hurghada Museum with a guide and transfer, and a few tours. Its Luxor and Giza tours from Hurghada are often filed under Luxor or Giza rather than Hurghada.
Its terms are plain and worth knowing:
- Tiqets acts as the supplier's intermediary; your agreement is with the supplier.
- You can cancel only if the product description says so. Check before you pay.
- Refunds can be requested up to 28 days after the date on your ticket, which helps if a supplier fails to turn up and you're home before you complain.
- Suppliers sometimes charge a local tax on the spot that Tiqets can't collect for them.
Many Tiqets products in Hurghada have only a handful of reviews, so a high score may rest on one or two people. Don't read too much into it either way.
When to choose which
Headout is our first stop for the island boats, Dolphin House, the semi-submarine, Dolphin World and hammams, mainly on price. Tiqets fills gaps: the museum with transfer, a fixed-price airport transfer, the occasional snorkel trip not sold elsewhere. For anything long or unusual, such as two days in Luxor, Nile cruises, Mahmya, the monasteries or fishing, GetYourGuide has far more choice; see our GetYourGuide review.
On every trip page the live list mixes all three platforms, so you can compare the identical option before you commit.
