Read the cancellation scale first
This matters most, so it comes first. Egypt Tours Portal's payment policy applies one cancellation scale to everything, from a Nile cruise to a Luxor day trip. Outside the holiday peaks the charges are:
| When you cancel | Charge |
|---|---|
| 61 days or more before | 15% |
| 60–30 days | 25% |
| 29–15 days | 50% |
| 14–7 days | 75% |
| 7–1 days, or no-show | 100% |
Over Christmas, New Year and Easter the steps are higher. Non-refundable costs such as domestic flights can be charged on top. For a multi-day trip that is normal. For a day trip booked a week ahead, it means the full price is gone the moment you book. Plan for that, or choose a format with a shorter free-cancellation window.
Company, licence and memberships
The company's identity page names it as Egypt Tours Portal Corporation, licensed since 1987 under Ministry of Tourism licence No. 672. It lists membership of the Egyptian Travel Agents Association, ASTA, IATA and a few industry groups. It shows ISO and CSR badges, but no street address on the pages we checked. The site comes in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French. There's a B2B programme for travel agencies, hotels and cruise lines, which promises tailored proposals within 24 hours, and a loyalty programme for repeat customers.
The Hurghada list
Their "Hurghada tours" section is built around history trips, almost all private:
- Luxor in a day: private car, Valley of the Kings, Karnak and Hatshepsut, back to your hotel the same night (our Luxor page)
- Cairo in a day: by private car or by plane, with Giza, the Egyptian Museum and Khan El Khalili (by road, by plane)
- Two days, Cairo and Luxor: with a flight between them, an Egyptologist and a private vehicle (2-day Luxor & private)
- Nile cruises from Hurghada: four, five and eight days (Aswan & Nile cruise)
- Red Sea extras: private snorkelling, quad safaris, dolphin trips
Paying
A booking is confirmed only after you approve the itinerary, pay the deposit and receive written confirmation. Day tours need about 25% down. Trips with domestic flights are paid in full before ticketing. Peak dates, luxury trips and large groups can need 50% or more. You pay through a secure link, by card on their gateway, or by bank transfer. Cash on arrival is possible only if agreed in writing beforehand. Prices are in US dollars, and card and conversion fees are yours. One good rule from their own policy: never send full card details by email or WhatsApp, to them or to anyone.
When a platform listing fits better
For a multi-day Egypt itinerary with flights and a cruise, a national operator with written terms makes sense. For a single Luxor or Cairo day from Hurghada, the same private format is listed on GetYourGuide and Headout by licensed operators. Most of those listings let you cancel for free up to 24 hours before. If your plans might change, that's a big difference from losing 100% in the last week.
