A transport company first
Rimo Tours is headquartered in Cairo and built around cars and drivers. The About page lists airport taxis and transfers, private chauffeurs, meet-and-assist at the airport, baggage delivery, hotel booking and sightseeing. It works in Egypt, the UAE, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. The fleet runs from sedans and SUVs to 7-seat minivans and 10-seat vans, all its own. The site says the company has been in business for over two decades. It does not print a Ministry of Tourism licence number.
That background explains the Hurghada offer. Most bookings here are the airport run: Hurghada airport to hotels in town, El Gouna, Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi, Safaga and Soma Bay, and longer runs to Luxor and Marsa Alam. Drivers meet you in arrivals and follow your flight, so a delay does not cost extra.
The Cairo trip people search for
"Rimo Tours Cairo" searches from Hurghada are mostly about Cairo in a day. The homepage lists a one-day Cairo trip with a flight from Hurghada or Makadi Bay. When we checked, the price showed as zero, so treat it as "on request". The Hurghada page describes a different version: Cairo by road, up to 15 guests in a group or private car, with the pyramids, the Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum and Khan El Khalili.
The two days have little in common. By road you leave Hurghada before dawn and spend most of the day in a vehicle. By plane you get far more time at the sites, at several times the price. Our Cairo by plane and Cairo by road pages compare them, and Hurghada to Cairo covers bus, flight and car if you want to stay overnight.
What the terms say
Rimo asks for full payment at booking. That is normal online but unusual for Hurghada, where deposits and cash on the day are common. The terms are worth reading:
- Transfers: cancel by email at least 48 hours before pickup, or lose the full amount. (The Hurghada transfer page says 24 hours, so get your rule in writing.) Drivers wait 60 minutes at airports and 15 minutes elsewhere.
- Tours: cancellation fees rise by how many days before arrival you cancel, and reach 100% inside 59 days. The scale reads as if it was written for multi-day packages. For a day trip, ask what applies before you pay.
- Refunds: back to the original card, up to 30 business days, minus a 5% banking fee.
- Complaints: in writing, within two days.
Same trips, other routes
For an airport transfer, a fixed price paid in advance is what you want, and Rimo's model fits that. For a Cairo or Luxor day trip, compare the cancellation terms with a platform listing. On GetYourGuide or Headout most day trips can be cancelled for free up to 24 hours before. The pages below show live options for each route.
